With some boutique breweries and wineries close you also won't want to miss the chance to experience the Biltmore! On top of all that, the beautiful scenery is hard to beat!

Boone- Around 3 hours from Raleigh. Boone is a quiet getaway for the nature lovers. Close to grandfather mountain, sugar, applachain, and beach mountain ski resorts. Offering tons of hiking and scenery to enjoy. Close drive to blowing rock and banner elk for a small town day of shopping and dining.

Wilmington- Around 2 hours from Raleigh. Wilmington situated on the cape fear river has wonderful dining and beautiful water front restaurants. Known for its nightlife and proximity to the beach. Venture to Wrightsville Beach for an afternoon walk and shop along downtown Wilmington.

Ways to prep your home in Feb:

  • Prune Trees - winter weather can weight down tree branches. Once those branches can no longer support the weight the branch will break or the tree may fall. Pruning your trees prior will eliminate the chance of a branch or tree falling on your home/ yard causing damage.
  • Check on Your Mower For Spring - go head and prep for spring. After all it is right around the corner. Make sure your mower cranks and no maintenance needs to be done. You do not want to wait until your grass is already ready for its first mow!
  • Repair Paint and Chips In Wall- this is a great time to tend to the interior of your home! Touch up the paint and areas inside that have taken so hits over the years
  • Clean Out Closet- What is a better way to start your year than with less clutter! go through your closet and get rid of anything you haven't worn in years or don't reach for often!
  • Check Fire Extinguishers and Check Smoke Alarms- Another item to tend to in the interior. Make sure your smoke alarms are working and your fire extinguisher is not out of date!
  • Keep Driveway and Walkway Clear Incase of Winter Weather- clean off your driveway and sidewalk. A clean drive and walkway ensures your safety if there is winter weather.
  • Inspect Roof, Gutters, Downspouts- winter weather can bring lots of rain, ice, and debris. Make sure your gutters are free flowing and downspouts are directing away from your home. We do not want water collecting around your foundation. Inspect your roof and making sure there are no leaks or lifted shingles prior to having an incident!
